Jet Pump Repair & Installation in NC
Shallow-well and deep-well jet pumps for older wells, hand-dug wells, and homes where above-ground service is preferred.
A jet pump is an above-ground pump (usually in a basement or pump house) that uses suction to pull water up from a well. Shallow-well jet pumps work for wells up to about 25 feet deep; deep-well jet pumps use a two-line system with a downhole jet assembly and reach 60–120 feet. Jet pumps are common on older Triad wells and on hand-dug wells. We repair priming problems, impeller wear, and check valve failures — and install new jet pumps when replacement makes sense.
What our team handles on the call
- Shallow-well jet pump installs (up to 25 ft)
- Deep-well jet pump installs (60–120 ft)
- Priming, impeller, and seal repair
- Check valve and foot valve replacement
- Conversion from jet to submersible when it makes sense
- Diaphragm and venturi assembly service
How a service call works
- 1Free phone diagnosis
We walk through symptoms, water pressure, sounds, and system age to narrow the problem before we roll a truck.
- 2On-site test
We check voltage at the pressure switch, draw amps on the pump, and verify pressure tank pre-charge before opening anything.
- 3Written estimate
You see the recommended scope, repair vs replacement, parts, and labor in writing before any work begins.
- 4Repair or replacement
We carry common pumps, tanks, switches, and check valves on the truck so most no-water calls finish the same day they started.
- 5System test and follow-up
We cycle the system, confirm pressure holds, shock-chlorinate when needed, and stand behind the work with a labor warranty.
What does it cost?
Shallow-well jet pump replacements run $900–$1,800 installed. Deep-well jet pump replacements run $1,400–$2,400 including the downhole jet assembly. Most jet pump repairs (priming, impeller, seals) land between $300 and $700.

Frequently asked
What's the difference between a jet pump and a submersible?
A jet pump sits above ground and pulls water up; a submersible sits in the well and pushes water up. Submersibles are more efficient for deep wells; jet pumps are easier to service because everything is above ground.
How deep can a jet pump go?
Shallow-well jet pumps work to about 25 ft of suction lift. Deep-well jet pumps use a downhole jet assembly and can reach 60–120 ft. Anything deeper needs a submersible.
My jet pump lost prime — can it be fixed?
Yes. Lost prime usually means a leaking foot valve, a leaking suction line, or air in the system. We re-prime, find the leak, and seal or replace the leaking component. Fix is usually $300–$700.
Should I convert from jet to submersible?
If your well is deep enough to support a submersible (60+ ft of water column) and your jet pump is at end of life, conversion often makes sense — submersibles are quieter, more efficient, and last longer. We quote both on site.
Do you warranty the work?
Yes. You get the full manufacturer warranty on the pump or tank plus our own labor warranty on the install. We answer the phone after the job is done.
Can you come out the same day?
Yes. No-water calls get same-day priority across the Piedmont Triad and our phone is answered 24/7. Most emergency calls are reached on-site within a couple of hours of the first call.
